December Spider Update

With winter finally setting its teeth into Central NY, we thought it an appropriate time to give an update on the progress of the Tool Holster PRO and Spider Locking Tether.  So bundle up with a cozy blanket and a mug of hot cocoa because we have exciting news!

First, if you are reading this, then you should be on the lookout for an upcoming invitation to our survey through Backerkit.  This will be our primary point of information collection going forward.  We have fully integrated the Backerkit platform with Kickstarter, so any information entered on Kickstarter has been transferred over to Backerkit.  You will be asked to confirm that your information (shipping address, billing address, order, etc.) is correct and, if it isn't, you will be able to change it through the platform.

IMPORTANT:

If you are in the United States, sales tax will be applied during this survey.  If you are international, VAT and any other duties fees will be your responsibility upon entry into your respective country.

Second, all components for the Tool Holster PRO have entered volume production!

Finally, we have made some improvements to the locking tether design that we are excited to share with y'all!

SPIDER LOCKING TETHER IMPROVEMENTS!!

We have added a detent at the top of the Slide Locks travel.  This will allow the user to snap the first stage of the lock into position and then back it up with the Threaded Lock Ring.

Slide Lock before and after:  Notice the SNAP at the top of travel.  No more free-floating locking components!

Additionally, we have made a rather noticeable notch in the head of the Locking Tether.  This cupped shape permits any attachments that slot above the tether to fit squarely within the Wear Resistant Insert.  

Doing so provides double benefits in that the load is better situated on a "wear" item and additives in the resin provide lubrication to the movement of the joining parts.

Hello Backers!

Spider Tool Holster team here,

As we move into the final days of our Kickstarter campaign we wanted to let everyone know about exciting progress that is being made on our Tool Holster.

Drill Pin Status:

We have added text onto the heads of the supplied bolts that are used to attach the Drill Pins onto your power tools belt clip mounting point. 

This quality of life change will allow the user to easily identify the different thread pitches required for different brands of power tools.  There will be three (3) of these bolts supplied with each Drill Pin in thread sizes M3, M4, and #6-32

Early Bird Exclusive Drill Pin Status:

We have received and approved samples of the Early Bird CNC Stainless Steel Drill Pin.  This change allows the Drill Pin to tuck out of the way of some manufacturers batteries.  (note that the smaller footprint of the standard Drill Pin is already optimized to clear all manufacturers batteries)

Additionally, we have great news for those that missed this Early Bird opportunity.  We will be making the CNC Stainless Steel Drill Pins available for purchase through BackerKit, our pledge survey manager, after the Kickstarter has ended.  Anyone will be able to add these to their pledge as desired through this service.

And finally we would like to say that all of our production molds have received their final adjustments and have been textured.  They are all good to go for production which is still on schedule to begin in December.  All this is to say we are on track to keep our delivery window as March 2023.
